2018 marks the 15-year anniversary for one of Australia’s and New Zealand’s favourite film festivals, the Russian Resurrection Film Festival. This year’s program is shaping up to be bigger and better than ever!
The festival has released a sneak peek of the line-up confirming some of 2018’s most highly anticipated Russian films, which will screen in Australia and New Zealand this year. The festival will be showcasing some of the latest and best of Russian cinema and hosting some special events to mark the momentous 15-year milestone.
The Russian Resurrection Film Festival will officially kick off on the 1st of November with a screening of hilarious comedy Night Shift, and an after-party at Newmarket favourite, Doolan Brothers. Guests can sample specialty vodka cocktails, immerse themselves in Russian entertainment and party with the DJ.
Night Shift (2018)
Leading Russian actor Konstantin Khabensky’s latest films Sobibor and Selfie have both been confirmed, along with a captivating new fantasy film The Last Warrior, figure skating melodrama Ice, a hilarious comedy about male strippers called Night Shift and Danila Kozlovsky’s directorial debut The Coach, released just before this year’s World Cup in Russia.
The retrospective collection for Russian Resurrection Film Festival 2018 will showcase a selection of award-winning Soviet films chosen to celebrate the 100-year anniversary of Lenfilm Studios in St. Petersburg and the 90-year anniversary of renowned director Vitaliy Melniko
