STRAY
This October, you’ll be in the cinema every week thanks to this month’s releases. Kicking off October’s newest releases is Stray, an award-winning drama about the relationship between a young man on parole and a woman seeking shelter a long way from home. Stray not only broke NZ crowd-funding records, but is the first kiwi movie to be selected for the Moscow International Film Festival, with Kieran Charnock winning Best Actor.

SHE SHEARS
She Shears follows the inspirational story of 5 female sheep shearers and their journey to New Zealand’s premiere shearing and woolhandling competition, the Golden Shears. Known predominantly as a male sport, this insight to the shearing industry will be of interest to even the most inner-city of people.

A STAR IS BORN
The long-awaited acting debut of Lady Gaga is almost here and it’s already been met with stellar reviews. In Bradley Cooper’s directorial debut, we see his character guide a young singer (Lady Gaga) to fame in the 1937 musical remake. With five star reviews all around the board and Oscar buzz on everyone’s mind, this is one you won’t want to miss.

SKY CITY BREAKERS
Kicking off on October 11th, the Sky City Breakers will start their new season under the guidance of ex-NBA player Matt Walsh. This season, Matt hopes to bring a fresh approach to New Zealand basketball. There are 14 home games this season, with an opportunity to catch a game at Spark Arena from October to February.

THE MERCHANTS OF BOLLYWOOD
